Ghana midfielder Emmanuel Lomotey gets one-match ban in France

Ghana midfielder Emmanuel Lomotey will miss one match after being sent off during Amiens clash with Sochaux last weekend.

Lomotey committed two bookable offences that resulted in a red card in the 67th minute of the Ligue 2 encounter.

This means he will play no part on Saturday when Amiens take on Niort.

The match ended goalless at the backyard of Amiens who were lucky not to lose because they were second-best on the day.

After 67 minutes, Lomotey had picked up his second yellow card so he was sent off and Amiens had to cope with 10 men.

However, it wasn’t for long because Sochaux’s defensive midfielder Joseph Lopy was also sent off in the 75th minute.

The two teams finished the game with 10 men and a point as neither could find the net.

Lomotey is in the squad for the two FIFA World Cup qualifiers against South Africa and Ethiopia.
